Junior Engineer (JE)

Railway RRB JE Exam Pattern 2024
- The CBT-I will be of 1 hour and 30 minutes (1.5) hours duration, However CBT-I will be of 1 hour and 30 minutes (1.5) hours duration
The selection process for RRB JE comprises four primary stages:
- Computer Based Test 1 (CBT 1): This serves as a screening test, and its scores do not contribute to the final merit list. It assesses subjects like Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, and General Science. Typically, there are 100 questions with a 90-minute time limit. Negative marking is applicable for incorrect answers. Only candidates meeting the cut-off marks proceed to CBT 2.
- Computer Based Test 2 (CBT 2): CBT 2 focuses on technical subjects relevant to the specific engineering stream for which you applied. The marks' weightage in this exam is higher compared to CBT 1.
- Document Verification (DV): In this stage, you must present your original documents for verification, confirming your eligibility criteria. These documents usually include educational certificates, caste certificates (if applicable), and identity proof.
- Medical Examination: Candidates undergo a medical examination to ensure they meet the physical fitness requirements essential for the Junior Engineer role.
- The first phase of the examination will be a Computer-based Test. Students who will qualify for the first phase will appear in CBT-II.
Exam Question Paper
- CBT-I - The CBT examination will be in ONLINE mode and the question paper would consist of 100 nos. of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 100 Marks to be answered in a maximum time of 1.5 hours.
- CBT-II - The CBT examination will be in ONLINE mode and the question paper would consist of 150 nos. of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) of 150 Marks to be answered in a maximum time of 2 hours.
- The medium of written examination shall be in English /Hindi only.
