A total of 32,438 vacancies will be filled for Level 1 positions, including Pointsman, Assistant, Track Maintainer, Assistant Loco Shed, Assistant Operations, and Assistant TL & AC. Educational Qualifications for Railway Group D Recruitment 2025
- Eligible candidates should have either successfully completed the 10th standard/ Matriculation OR acquired an ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT.
- Alternatively, candidates may possess an equivalent qualification, such as the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT. Additionally, those with a 10th pass along with the National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT or 10th pass along with ITI from institutions recognized by NCVT/SCVT are also considered eligible.
- Candidates who are awaiting the results of the final examination for the prescribed educational/technical qualification are advised not to apply.
Upper Age Limit for RRB Group D Recruitment 2025
Candidate must not be under 18 years of age and must not be above 33 years

Railway Group D 2025 Exam Pattern
- The CBT will be of TWO (2) hours duration
- All the eligible candidates have to undergo a Computer Based Test(s) on the specified date(s), time and venue(s) as per the e-call letter to be downloaded by the candidates from the websites of RRBs/RRCs. The information about the e-call letter download shall be communicated through the websites as well as personal email communication to the candidates.
- The written examination will be in ONLINE mode and the question paper would consist of 100 nos. of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to be answered in a maximum time of 2 hours.

- The medium of written examination shall be in Hindi / English.
- The section wise distribution given in the above table is only indicative and there may be some variation in the actual question paper. There will be negative marking and 1/3 marks shall be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR-40%, EWS-40%, OBC(Non creamy layer)-30%, SC-30%, ST-30%. These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
- Where a second stage CBT is deemed necessary and held, the Railway Administration reserves the right to treat the first stage CBT as a qualifying test for the purpose of short listing a reasonable number of candidates for the second stage.

The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions pertaining to:
- Mathematics Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work, Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
- General Intelligence and reasoning Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
- General Science The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level (CBSE).
