Educational Qualifications for PGCIL Engineer Trainee Recruitment 2023
- Candidate Should have B.E / B.Tech Degree in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics / Civil /Computer Engineering with at least 60% marks in aggregate from a recognized University / Institution or Passing of Section-A&B of IE (India) in relevant discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate.
- Valid Score in the GATE 2023 corresponding paper of GATE 2023 as shown given below.
- Eligible candidates will have to appear for the corresponding paper of GATE 2023 i.e Electrical Engineering (EE) paper, Electrical Engineering (EE) / Electronics and Communication (EC) / Civil Engineering (CE)/ Computer Science Engineering (CS).

POWERGRID Engineer Trainee Exam Pattern
- PowerGrid Select Engineer Trainee Through GATE 2023 Exam
- The CBT will be of THREE (3) hours duration
- GATE 2023 will be a computer-based test (CBT) which is being organized by the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur.
- The written examination will be in ONLINE mode and the question paper would consist of 85 nos. of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) to be answered in a maximum time of 3 hours.
- The medium of written examination shall be in English / Hindi only.
Application fees for PGCIL Recruitment 2023 for Engineer Trainee
You are required to login to your candidate login section and then deposit nonrefundable application fees of Rs. 500/- through online mode only. On submission of application fees, your application process will be treated as complete. However, SC/ST/PwD/ Ex-SM/ Departmental candidates are exempted from payment of application fees.

Salary / Pay Level for PGCIL Recruitment 2023
- Selected candidates will be placed in the pay scale of Rs.40,000/- -3%- 1,40,000(IDA) during the one-year training period. They shall be paid stipend in the form of Basic Pay of Rs. 40,000/- along with IDA, HRA and Perks @12% of basic pay during training period.
- On successful completion of training, the candidates will be absorbed as Engineers in E2 scale - Rs. 50,000/- 3%- 1,60,000/- (IDA).

Selection Process for POWERGRID Recruitment 2023 for Engineer Trainees (ET)
- The Selection Process consists of marks obtained (out of 100) in the corresponding paper of GATE 2023, Group Discussion & Personal Interview.
- Candidates qualified in corresponding paper of GATE 2023 shall only be eligible to be considered for the next stage of selection. Qualifying marks in GATE 2023 shall be as decided by GATE 2023 conducting authority.
- Qualified candidates shall be short-listed category-wise for Group Discussion & Personal Interview based on their normalized marks out of 100 in GATE 2023, in the corresponding paper
- Candidates shall have the option of appearing in the GD/Interview in Hindi or English.
